Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

We collect the minimum data needed to operate ResumeRemix:

  • Email address — collected after your first free remix to track usage, enforce free tier limits, and send you onboarding and product emails.
  • Resume content — uploaded files (PDF, DOCX, TXT) are parsed in memory and sent to our AI provider for processing. Resume content is never stored on our servers, in any database, or in any log.
  • Anonymous analytics events — we record which filters are used, completion rates, and button clicks. These events contain no personally identifiable information.
  • Usage counts — we store how many remixes your email has used and whether you have a paid license.
  • Payment information — all payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your credit card number or payment details.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Email — to track your free remix count and paid status, and to send you product updates, tips, and occasional promotional emails. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. We do not share your email with anyone.
  • Resume content — transmitted to the Anthropic Claude API for AI-powered rewriting, then immediately discarded. Not stored, not logged, not used for model training.
  • Analytics — used in aggregate to improve the product (e.g., identifying popular filters, fixing broken flows).
  • Payment — one-time transaction processing via Stripe to unlock unlimited remixes.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate ResumeRemix:

  • Anthropic (Claude API) — processes your resume text to generate rewrites. Anthropic does not use API inputs for model training under their commercial terms.
  • Stripe — handles all payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs how cardholder data is handled.
  • Vercel — hosts the application and provides database infrastructure (KV storage for usage tracking, Postgres for anonymous analytics).
  • Resend — delivers transactional and onboarding emails on our behalf.

4. Data Retention

  • Resume content — not retained at all. Processed in memory only and never written to disk or any database.
  • Email and usage data — retained as long as needed to enforce access limits. You may request deletion at any time.
  • Analytics events — retained indefinitely in anonymous, aggregate form.
  • Payment records — Stripe retains transaction records per their own retention policy.

5. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes. The only third parties that receive data are the service providers listed above, solely to operate ResumeRemix.

6. AI Processing Disclosure

ResumeRemix uses Anthropic's Claude AI to rewrite your resume. When you submit a remix:

  • Your resume text is sent to Anthropic's API over an encrypted connection.
  • Anthropic processes the text and returns a rewritten version.
  • Anthropic does not use commercial API inputs to train their models.
  • No resume content is stored by us or, per Anthropic's commercial API terms, retained by Anthropic beyond the processing window.

7. Your Rights (California / CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal data we collect and why.
  • Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data (we do not sell or share your data).
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

8. Cookies and Tracking

ResumeRemix does not use cookies. We use browser sessionStorage (cleared when you close the tab) for anonymous session IDs and localStorage for your usage count. No third-party tracking scripts are loaded.

9. Email Communications

After signing up, you will receive a short onboarding email series about ResumeRemix. We may also send product updates, tips, and occasional promotional emails. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email. Unsubscribing immediately stops all future emails. We use Resend as our email delivery service.

10. Children

ResumeRemix is not directed at users under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
