Terms of Service

1. Service Description

ResumeRemix ("the Service") is a web application that accepts a user-uploaded resume, processes it using artificial intelligence, and returns a rewritten version in the user's chosen style. The Service does not create user accounts. Access is tracked by email address.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using ResumeRemix, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Free Tier and Payment

• You receive 3 free remixes. An email address is required after your first remix.
• Unlimited remixes are available for a one-time payment of $5.00 USD, processed by Stripe.
• We do not store your payment information. All payment processing is handled by Stripe.
• All sales are final. Due to the immediate-delivery, digital nature of the Service, refunds are not available. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will investigate.

4. Acceptable Use

By using the Service, you agree to:

• Only upload resumes that you own or have explicit permission to modify.
• Not use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, abuse, overload, or circumvent access controls of the Service.
• Not use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for users who violate these terms.

5. Intellectual Property

• Your content: You retain full ownership of any resume you upload and any rewritten output you receive. We claim no license to your content beyond what is necessary to process your request.
• Our service: The ResumeRemix application, its design, code, filter prompts, and branding are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them.

6. AI-Generated Output

Resume rewrites are generated by artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude). You acknowledge that:

• AI output may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content.
• You are solely responsible for reviewing and editing any output before using it.
• The Service does not provide professional career counseling, legal advice, or employment guarantees.
• We make no representation that using the Service will result in employment, interviews, or any specific outcome.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ResumeRemix, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third party's rights (including uploading a resume you do not have permission to use).

10. Service Availability

We make no guarantee of continuous availability. The Service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice. Access granted through payment is valid for as long as the Service operates. No refunds will be issued for service discontinuation.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New York, NY.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
